What is a Relationship? (According to You Versus Your Partner)
Do you and your partner both agree on what a relationship is? Maybe…or maybe not.
A lot of our ideas, dreams, and fantasies about relationships aren’t conscious thoughts; they are developed based on the family we grew up in, the movies we watched, and the books we read. So as you can imagine, it gets messy when the two of you have any differences at all.
One of you might think that being in a relationship should be fun. You feel like any struggle is a sign of bad omens, and you don’t handle conflict well because you see it as a major upset. After all, it’s supposed to be easy--right?
The other person might value full honesty. They might want to talk everything out, all the time. And when the other person doesn’t engage, they flip out.
Neither of these are “wrong”, and neither of them are “right”. But they are different.
